Description

This course will review neurologic assessments, stroke types and interventions, and the latest evidence for stroke care.

Target audience: Paramedics and RNs

  1. Describe inclusion criteria and timeframes for acute reperfusion therapies (t-PA & embolectomy)

  2. Evaluate the identification of signs and symptoms of stroke.

  3. Describe interventions and management of hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke.

  4. Discuss the current evidence for acute stroke treatment and the future of stroke care.

  5. Understand stroke center criteria for performance improvement

  6. Examine atypical presentation of acute stroke
